Fruit Lady's Journal chronicles every farm we've visited this year. Opinions are formed from seeing a range of offerings, and it's just natural to start ranking those opinions. With that in mind, we've picked our 2023 favorites for unsung fruit in a range of categories. Rankings will evolve as we visit more farms!

Best New Fruit Experience

#1 Haskaps @ Rosedale Fruit Farm

We were easily sold on fruit tasting like a blueberry, raspberry and strawberry. They just kept getting more flavorful once picked. Sharing with friends was a blast, but they didn't last long. We'll stock up next time!

#2 Gooseberries @ West Union Gardens

We knew little about gooseberries before arriving in the field. Thankfully, the signs let us know about the thorns. The heat wave had done a number on them, but we found more than we needed on the bushes.

These berries were so easy to pick that we left with more than intended. We look forward to experimenting with them in the kitchen.
