Fruit Lady's Journal chronicles every farm we've visited this year. Opinions are formed from seeing a range of offerings, and it's just natural to start ranking those opinions. With that in mind, we've picked our 2023 bramble favorites in a range of categories. Rankings will evolve as we visit more farms!

Best Bramble Picking

#1 Tayberries @ West Union Gardens

The choices for brambles was astonishing this day. Choosing just one was challenging, but we had already picked enough other fruit. Our choice of tayberries fit into our day's theme of trying something new.

#2 Blackberries @ Fordyce Farms

The vines were a couple days away from being abundant with ripe berries, so we passed over many to find the ones we picked. These delicious triple crowns were totally worth the effort.

#3 Raspberries @ Burns Farm at Aldersyde

Raspberries aren't a fan favorite with us, but we truly enjoyed picking them this day. It was a pleasant temperature, and the clear view of Mt Hood from the well maintained field was a memorable sight.

Best Kid Experience

#1 Blackberries @ Fordyce Farms

Their playground is always popular with kids. It will be irresistible once the seasonal hay bale fort is finished.
